House Majority Whip Tom Emmer is joining President Donald Trump in blaming the terrorist attack in Boulder, Colorado, that left eight people injured, on the Democrats’ failure to secure the border under former President Joe Biden.
The Department of Homeland Security confirmed to the Daily Caller News Foundation on Monday that the Egyptian national accused of using a flamethrower and Molotov cocktails on a Jewish group Sunday had entered the United States during the Biden administration and overstayed a visa which expired in February 2023. Emmer torched Democrats for allowing millions of illegal migrants to cross the southern border under Biden and accused the party’s agenda of being “antisemitic,” in an exclusive statement to the Daily Caller News Foundation.
“Make no mistake: The horrific terrorist attack in Boulder is a direct result of the Democrats’ antisemitic, open-borders agenda,” Emmer told the DCNF in a statement Monday.
Emmer also credited House Republicans for standing with Jewish Americans while the country endures a spate of violent anti-Semitic attacks and keeping Americans safe by supporting the president’s deportation and immigration enforcement efforts.
“Under President Trump’s leadership, House Republicans are working overtime to ensure the Jewish community is protected and radical, illegal immigrants have no refuge in America.”
Today’s targeted terror attack in Boulder is a stark reminder that the fight against antisemitism—here at home and around the world—is far from over.
Jacquie and I are praying for the victims, their loved ones, and the entire Jewish community.
Never again is NOW.

“The Colorado Terrorist attack suspect, Mohamed Soliman, is illegally in our country,” a DHS spokesperson told the DCNF in a statement. “He entered the country in August 2022 on a B2 visa that expired on February 2023. He filed for asylum in September 2022.”
Soliman allegedly yelled “Free Palestine” before committing the act of terror against the pro-Israeli demonstrators. The Egyptian national told police that he “wanted to kill all Zionist people and wished they were all dead.”
The Trump administration’s Department of Justice (DOJ) charged Soliman with a federal hate crime on Monday. In a press release, Attorney General Pam Bondi stated that the DOJ will hold the suspect “accountable to the fullest extent of the law.”
No House Democrats voted “yes” on H.R. 2, the Secure the Border Act, in May 2023 which would have increased civil and criminal penalties on foreign nationals who overstay their visa.
Congressional Democrats have also largely opposed GOP-backed legislation to crack down on illegal immigration, including the Laken Riley Act. Just 46 Democratic lawmakers joined their Republican colleagues in January to support legislation that would allow federal immigration authorities to detain illegal migrants for committing an array of criminal offenses.
Trump wrote Monday on Truth Social that the terror suspect entered the United States “through Biden’s ridiculous Open Borders Policy.”
“He must go out under ‘TRUMP’ Policy,” Trump added. “This is yet another example of why we must keep our Borders SECURE, and deport Illegal, Anti-American Radicals from our Homeland.”
The Trump administration announced in April that encounters with illegal migrants at the southern border were down by 95% and that the number of “gotaways” — illegal immigrants released into the United States — decreased by 99% a year prior.
Every House Democrat voted against the president’s sweeping tax and spending bill, which allocates nearly $50 billion for border wall construction and an additional $12 billion in reimbursements to border states for combating illegal immigration during the Biden administration.
