Joe Biden has enabled a constitutional crisis by refusing to allow Texas to secure its border and fix an immigration debacle that is wreaking havoc on local communities. When Texas Governor Gregg Abbott ignored Biden’s demands and placed the Texas National Guard in control of the Del Rio section of the border, illegal immigration fell from 4,000 per day to less than 200.
Despite the successful reduction, the Biden administration was incensed at Abbott’s actions and signaled that further litigation is all but certain.
Biden’s refusal to crackdown on border security goes back to his time in the Obama administration according to a shocking new report from Pro Publica today. The report alleges that drug cartels in Mexico donated more than $2 million to Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s first campaign to be Mexico’s President shortly before Obama took office. In exchange, the newly elected president would turn a blind eye to the sprawling drug-running operation that resulted in deadly drugs crossing the US border.
The Obama administration decided to close the investigation. Here’s the quote from Pro Publica’s story that matters:
In late 2011, DEA agents proposed a sting in which they would offer $5 million in supposed drug money to operatives working on López Obrador’s second presidential campaign. Instead, Justice Department officials closed the investigation, in part over concerns that even a successful prosecution would be viewed by Mexicans as egregious American meddling in their politics.
The Obama White House refused to target drug operatives despite definitive proof that copious amounts of fentanyl-laced drugs were crossing the US border and killing hundreds of thousands of Americans.

Brookings has a story we linked to in the Show Notes that confirms the Chinese government is expanding its influence by allowing its criminal elements to partner with cartels in Mexico. Additionally, these criminal elements have increased the rate of trafficking unverified Chinese nationals to the United States through the southern border via these criminal partners in Mexico.
Biden’s refusal to secure the southern border has provided a direct pathway for China to surreptitiously transport unverified nationals to the United States and to profit off of Mexcios drug cartels. The real question is where is the media coverage?
