The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) responded to 648 crashes across the state during Saturday’s winter storm, including three fatal accidents.
Officials reported that 518 crashes resulted in property damage and 127 led to injuries, while THP troopers assisted 874 stranded motorists.
The agency’s dispatchers handled 1,708 calls for assistance as troopers worked with TDOT and TEMA to clear roadways and respond to emergencies amid harsh weather conditions. Watch a video report here.
In a Facebook post on Saturday evening, THP reported that its officers had been “working around the clock to keep Tennesseans safe.”
