Iran Should De-Escalate and Not Respond

Erick-Woods Erickson

This is how it works, right? The world will now tell Iran to de-escalate and choose peace, not respond.

Or are only the Jews told all that stuff?

Israel has launched strategic strikes at Iran and proven itself far more effective at damage than Iran, which launched over 300 missiles and drones at Israel and saw 99% destroyed before impact.

Israel had every right to respond, of course. Still, the left/media tried to portray this war as a tit-for-tat instead of honestly reporting Israel took out an Al Quds military leader of Iran who had helped facilitate the October 7, 2023, attack on Israel.

Iran responded to Israel’s effective attack against a terror mastermind, and Iran’s attack was impotent, not for lack of trying. The post-attack spin claimed Iran did not really mean it because Iran was not effective. This was always a lie.

The international response to Israel’s missile strikes on Iran will be telling. I suspect we will see antisemitism in all its glory. We will find leaders and pundits twisting themselves to condemn Israel in ways they have not condemned Iran or, probably, even Hamas.

More importantly, what we are witnessing is a military technology gap that Iran, China, and Russia have not filled. It is another demonstration that our military is superior to the Axis of Evil, and, frankly, Speaker Johnson is right to fund Ukraine’s cause and have us fund superior Western technology to stop the Axis of Evil’s expansion.

The isolationists and those who would mutter “neocon” as they retreat from the world stage have the luxury of hiding behind things that have not happened. The Axis of Evil has not spread or dominated because the United States continues to lead. Retreat and isolation are a choice and, if made, will be replaced on the world stage by China, Russia, and Iran.

The choice is not just Israel’s but is ours. I prefer the United States to continue leading the world. The people betting against America say we cannot multitask and cannot afford it. I say the world should not bet against America and its allies and if you think we cannot afford leadership, wait until you see what you yourselves cannot afford in the absence of American global leadership. I hope you never have to experience that.
