IRS Extends Tax Deadline for Tennesseans

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) announced Monday that it was extending today’s tax-filing deadline for Tennessee residents and businesses until Nov. 3 due to the impacts of severe weather across the state.

The IRS announcement follows weeks of natural disasters across Tennessee in April, including destructive storms, tornadoes, and flooding.

An IRS spokesperson said Tennesseans aren’t required to file any additional forms to qualify for the extension. The deadline extension applies both to filing and payment of taxes originally due in April.
