It’s Going To Be Ok

A heartbreaking video has been floating around the web of a grown woman claiming she has lost her father. No, he’s not dead. He’s alive and well but a Trump supporter. This woman chose to end a relationship with her only father over a political candidate whom neither of them have a personal relationship with.

With two days before an election, politics has morphed into an all-consuming force for many Americans who are convinced the country will end if their candidate is not elected. The harsh reality is there is a very reasonable chance that Kamala Harris or Donald Trump will be your next President and either way your life will not be dramatically impacted.

Yes, if Harris is President, taxes will go up. Yes, if Trump is President, taxes will go up. Yes, depending on your preference, policies will be enacted you do not like, but that’s the nature of every presidency.

This is an important reminder that for all of the passion surrounding national politics this week, perspective matters and your local government impacts the day-to-day nature of your life significantly more. And you? You’re supposed to love the Lord and love your neighbor. Whoever wins on Tuesday, God’s will is being done.
