John Fetterman is clearly nervous about the future of the Democrat Party.
But Fetterman may be on the verge of this daring move.
And John Fetterman may walk away from his party to take this job with Trump.
Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman is up for re-election in 2028.
Donald Trump just carried Pennsylvania by a bigger margin than he did in 2016 and voter registration statistics show the state keeps getting redder.
Fetterman knows his original presentation as a Bernie Bro won’t fly anymore in Pennsylvania so he’s engaged in an image reboot.
That’s why Fetterman became the first Democrat senator to travel to Mar-a-Lago to meet with Donald Trump.
“I think that one, he’s the president, or he will be officially,” Fetterman explained to CBS News as to why he agreed to meet with Trump.
Fetterman falsely cast himself as a free agent not owned by the left.
“And I think it’s pretty reasonable that if the president would like to have a conversation — or invite someone to have a conversation — to have it. And no one is my gatekeeper,” Fetterman added.
Trump’s proposed acquisition of Greenland appeared high on the agenda for this meeting.
During a recent press conference at Mar-a-Lago, Trump cast acquiring Greenland as vital to United States national security.
“We need Greenland for national security purposes. I’ve been told that for a long time, long before I even ran. I mean, people have been talking about it for a long time,” Trump told reporters.
Trump explained that Greenland sat on a critical shipping lane and possessed mass quantities of rare earth minerals that America needed for military use.
Communist China could move in on Greenland which would hand the Chinese the ability to choke off America’s ability to engage in trade and put America at a technological disadvantage in military terms.
“I’m talking about protecting the free world. You look at — you don’t even need binoculars. You look outside, you have China ships all over the place. You have Russian ships all over the place. We’re not letting that happen,” Trump stated.
Fetterman told reporters he was open to the idea of supporting Trump’s proposed acquisition of Greenland.
“If anyone thinks that’s bonkers, it’s like, well, remember the Louisiana Purchase?” Fetterman declared, making sure reporters knew that he was “open to having all kinds of conversations.”
Fetterman even joked that he would take a job in the Trump administration if Trump pulled off purchasing Greenland.
“I’m angling to be named the pope of Greenland,” Fetterman exclaimed.
