Lookout Mountain man arraigned on fourth federal count of transporting minors across state lines for sex

The Lookout Mountain, Tennessee, man facing allegations in federal court of taking teen boys over state lines for sex was arraigned Friday on a fourth count stemming from a third alleged victim in the case.

James Coleman Thompson, 72, entered a not guilty plea to the newest count in the case before District Magistrate Christopher H. Steger. The most recent count is alleged to have happened between 1999 and 2000.

Thompson was represented at Friday’s hearing by Chattanooga-based lawyer Lee Davis. The U.S. attorney’s office was represented by James T. Brooks.

Thompson — escorted by a U.S. marshal and now sporting a full beard and shorter hair — was handcuffed and shackled, wearing a light brown prison uniform with reading glasses tucked into the collar when he entered the courtroom Friday.
