Surveillance footage of the December 2024 incident shows the suspects ram through the front of the shop in a stolen car.
DICKSON, Tenn. (WSMV) – The U.S. Attorney’s Office has announced the arrest of a man who was unlawfully in the U.S. in connection with a burglary of a Tennessee pawn shop that resulted in more than 40 firearms being stolen in December 2024.
Manuel De Jesus Guirola-Amaya, 20, of Honduras, was indicted by a federal grand jury on a slew of charges connected to the burglary of Golden Eagle Pawn in Dickson on Dec. 5.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office reports that surveillance video showed two stolen cars arriving at the shop, one of which rammed the front door. Four people then entered the store and began looting several firearms displays.
Two minutes after crashing into the shop, the group left the scene in one of the stolen cars. The U.S. Attorney’s Office said more than 40 guns were stolen during the burglary.
Later that day, a La Vergne police officer stopped a car with an expired registration that was being driven by Guirola-Amaya. Following a search of the vehicle, officers found a backpack containing five pistols that were allegedly stolen from Golden Eagle Pawn and still had the price tags on them.
Another backpack was found with two more stolen pistols, along with marijuana and digital scales.
“Agents later executed a federal search warrant at a residence tied to Guirola-Amaya. They discovered, among other things, a high-capacity magazine, ammunition, and price tags consistent with the Golden Eagle Pawn price tags. Agents also executed several search warrants on cell phones found on Guirola-Amaya or in the car the day of his arrest. The data extraction results from the phones provided further ties to the burglary including photographs and videos of firearms, location data, and search queries.”U.S. Attorney’s Office, Middle District of Tennessee
The U.S. Attorney’s Office reports that Guirola-Amaya entered the U.S. illegally in March 2022 and has no lawful status. If convicted, the Honduras native faces up to 35 years in prison and nearly $1 million in fines on charges of possession of a firearm by an illegal alien, possession of a stolen firearm, and stealing firearms from a federal firearms licensee.
