GREENBRIER, Tenn. (WTVF) — Authorities have captured a suspect who spurred a manhunt in Robertson County after deputies believe he killed his stepdad.
The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office said they found Jimmy Anthony Cox, 39, inside an unknown remote cave off of Smiley Hollow Road. Tips came to the sheriff’s office spotting smoke billowing from the cave.
Deputies said they responded to a welfare check at a home on Fishers Grove on Feb. 4. That is when they found Jeremy Crabtree, Cox’s stepdad, dead from multiple stab wounds.
“Thank you to all the citizen’s tips and the numerous law enforcement agencies that assisted in the search and getting a murderer off of our streets,” said Sheriff Michael Van Dyke.
Cox is currently in the booking process. His bond is not known at this time.
