Lost in the rugged wilderness of southern Utah, Julian Hernandez and his teenage son faced a dire situation: freezing night with no supplies and temperatures plummeting—until they stumbled upon what they now call a “miracle backpack.”
Left behind weeks earlier by 15-year-old Levi Dittman after his own rescue, the green pack was filled with food, water, and emergency supplies, helping the father and son endure until help arrived.
Weeks earlier, Dittman had been stranded in the same spot, forced to abandon that very backpack. Never expecting to see it again, he was stunned to learn it had saved another family.
Levi’s mother called it a “God fingerprint,” a reminder that small actions can have life-changing impacts. Levi simply said, “I’m glad it could help someone.”
