Munford High School was closed yesterday after a teacher was found dead inside a classroom, according to police.
Officers responded to the scene before the school day began, and investigators confirmed there were no signs of foul play. The teacher was identified as Samuel Colin Day.
Authorities assured the community that the situation was contained, all students and staff were safe, and there was no ongoing threat.
Tipton County Schools Assistant Superintendent Rebekah Byrd said that the staff member was found just before students arrived on the campus.
