Phil Weiser Enters 2026 Governor’s Race

Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser launched his 2026 gubernatorial campaign on Thursday.

Weiser is the first major Democrat to enter the race to succeed term-limited Gov. Jared Polis.

Potential Democratic challengers include Secretary of State Jena Griswold, U.S. Rep. Joe Neguse, U.S. Rep. Jason Crow, and U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Ken Salazar.

According to a recent poll, Neguse leads the field with 20% support among likely Democratic primary voters. Griswold follows at 16%, Salazar at 11%, and Weiser at 8%, while a significant portion of voters remain undecided.
