An altercation at a New Hampshire park turned ugly when a young mother and her 4-year-old daughter found themselves trapped in a porta-potty covered in feces and bodily fluids. According to a post on the Manchester Police Facebook page, the incident occurred on May 8, 2024, when the mother called for help after a man pushed over the portable toilet they were in.

The suspect, identified as 18-year-old Aiden Studer, was arrested and charged with two counts of criminal restraint, criminal mischief, and assault on a police officer.

The chaotic scene unfolded at Derryfield Park, where witnesses overheard a heated argument between the suspect and the victim. As the situation escalated, the woman went inside the porta-potty to help her daughter, at which point Studer allegedly pushed over the structure, causing it to land with the door on the pavement. The two were covered in filth and unable to escape until nearby bystanders came to their aid. Thankfully, no one was physically harmed during the incident.

Police were quick to respond to the scene and were able to gather witness statements that helped them identify the suspect. It was revealed that Studer and the victim did not know each other prior to the altercation, making the incident appear to be random and senseless. The victim’s young daughter was likely traumatized by the ordeal, as she was trapped and exposed to unsanitary conditions, making it a truly disturbing and unsettling experience.

As a result of the altercation, Studer was charged with criminal restraint and criminal mischief for his role in the incident. Additionally, he was also charged with assault on a police officer after he threw a shoe at one of the responding officers. According to Manchester Police Department spokesperson Heather Hamel, the gravity of the situation was not lost on law enforcement. “It’s disgusting, obviously, the thought of what occurred inside there and traumatizing because she had a young child with her. So, it’s definitely something that caught our attention, and this person was arrested and charged once they were identified,” Hamel stated.

Studer was released from custody and is set to appear in court at a later date to face his charges.

The incident serves as a reminder of the potential danger and consequences that arise from heated disagreements and the importance of maintaining composure in all circumstances. It also highlights the bravery and compassion of those who came to the aid of the trapped mother and child, proving that even in the midst of chaotic events, there are still good-hearted individuals who are willing to help.
