An overwhelming majority of Americans — 86% — think President Biden is too old to serve another term, according to an ABC News/Ipsos poll taken just days after a Justice Department report raised questions about President Biden’s memory.
The White House has battled back against the report’s description of the president as a “well-meaning elderly man with a poor memory,” claiming it was a politically motivated hit job.
Nonetheless, the survey showed that 91% of independents felt Biden was too old, and 73% of Democrats agreed. Asked about Donald Trump’s age, overall 62% said he was too old, but only 35% of Republicans agreed.
The Special Counsel report exonerated Biden of criminal charges for mishandling classified documents. In the ABC poll, 38% said he should have been charged.
