William Robert Kinton, III of Trenton, TN, age 79, died Wednesday, October 23, 2024, in Nashville, Tennessee.
Robert is leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all his friends and family. He was not just a lawyer by profession, but a man known for his intelligence and relentless dedication to his clients. Beyond his career, Robert was a devoted father who raised his family with a firm but loving hand. He taught his children the values of hard work, respect, and the importance of a good story. He was a storyteller who captivated listeners and never let the truth get in the way of a great story.
At heart, Robert was a true cattleman—rugged and resilient, embodying Western spirit. He was one of the founders of Innovative Livestock Services inc. which originated from Ward Feed Yard in Kansas. His love for nature contributed to his success training his bird dogs, raising Foundation Quarter Horses and hunting. He was a field trial champion and shared his passion for the outdoors with family and friends.
As a grandfather and great-grandfather, Robert loved his grandchildren and was an example of strength and a source of many memorable experiences. He was known for his sense of humor, and the way he could make everyone feel special. He left his family with treasured memories, lessons, and stories to last a lifetime. He is survived by his loving family who will continue to honor his legacy by sharing his stories and remembering his guidance.
Robert Kinton was an officer in the Tennessee Army National Guard and was Methodist by faith.

He is survived by his wife, Sherrie McIlwain Kinton; his sons, William Robert (Melissa) Kinton, IV of Maryville, TN and John Corey (Kathy) Kinton of Buchanan, TN; two sisters, Helen (Jim Rossman) Kinton of Nashville and Susie (Bob) Ferguson of Trenton; six grandchildren, Ziggi Kinton, Megan Bolerjack, John Patrick Kinton, Mary Kinton, Zeb Kinton and Taylor Rose Kinton; one great-grandson, Leo Kinton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Robert Kinton, Jr and Helen Davis Kinton; one brother, Richard Kinton.
