Russia, Ukraine Exchange Major Drone Strikes

Russia and Ukraine traded drone strikes overnight Saturday, with Ukraine’s attack hitting Moscow, resulting in several injuries and airport disruptions.

The attacks mark the largest drone strikes since the war began.

The escalation comes directly after Russian President Putin signed an alliance with North Korea into law and amid reports that he is considering President-elect Donald Trump’s proposals for ending the conflict. Meanwhile, a top official in the U.K. said the Russian troops had suffered their worst month of casualties in October since they invaded Ukraine in February 2022, estimating a total of 700,000 Russian casualties in the war.
