Satire for the City….

If you are on Facebook and you are a resident of the city of Jackson, TN you may find your jollies knocking the elected and unelected officials that run the city government. Certainly a little sarcastic print mixed with a touch of humor should make your day if it wasn’t so evident how close to the truth most of the print is. Still making fun of council is probably a little unfair. They meet, maybe at most, 2 times a month, 3 if there are special groups and they have little to no power. They are feed sh_t and keep in the dark most of the time. What is typically sad is that is what the majority of council and the mayor would prefer it that way. It took the current mayor two years to figure how the city politic works and how to use it for the benefit of those that advised and aided him through that process.

But let’s get down to it… government in larger cities is corrupt. How could that be you ask … simple, when we start providing benefits beyond what one might make normally and mix that with individuals that are hungry for more corruption becomes the end result. All this aided by a citizenry that pays little attention to it. This creates a dangerous mix.
