A Saturday night shooting at Kate Campbell Park in Jackson left seven people injured, including juveniles, according to police.
The violence broke out around 8:41 p.m., northeast of downtown, leaving one victim in critical condition and two others hospitalized. No arrests have been made, and investigators are still working the scene, urging witnesses or anyone with footage to come forward. The motive remains unclear.
The Jackson Police Department said in a news release posted on Facebook: “Investigators are currently on scene conducting interviews with witnesses, processing the scene, and following up on leads to determine the circumstances surrounding the event.”
The police department urged anyone with information to get in touch, saying: “Your cooperation is essential in helping us solve this case and ensure community safety.”
