“Some Very Fine People”

ERICK-WOODS ERICKSON

First, and on a personal note, I am usually the one to make headlines in my family. However, if you go here and scroll down, you’ll get to read about my wife and her battle against cancer, including a picture of her on her Harley.

Israel rescued 4 hostages that Hamas kidnapped on October 7, 2024. Vice President Kamala Harris chose to mourn the 200 Gaza residents who died as Israel rescued its four hostages. Many of those residents, including an Al Jazeera reporter, were holding the hostages for Hamas. To the extent the others were not, Hamas held the hostages in a civilian area to maximize any death toll from the rescue. That is on Hamas, not Israel. It is also a war crime, but notice the silence from the left about Hamas’s war crime.

The Biden-Harris Administration, which likes to claim Biden ran because of Trump’s “some very fine people on both sides” moment after Charlottesville, VA, are doing the same thing with terrorists and their sympathizers. The white racists in Charlottesville could be easily condemned and vilified as Trump supporters. Hamas agitators cannot. In fact, the White House press shop says that the pro-Hamas agitators who vandalized Lafayette Park were just exercising their free speech rights. Extremists who lean right are condemnable. Extremists who lean left might be a vote.

The Biden-Harris Administration prosecuted and sent to jail a wheelchair bound seventy-five year old grandmother for blockading an abortion clinic. They have aggressively pursued and sought to jail pro-life activists.

Concurrently, this weekend in D.C., pro-Hamas protestors vandalized statues and threw water bottles and other objects at a park ranger in Lafayette Park. The Secret Service retreated.

No one is being prosecuted.

The praying grandmother will go to jail, but the insurrectionary Hamas supporters will get a pass in Joe Biden’s America. Paulette Harlow, the grandmother, wasn’t just praying outside an abortion clinic. She went into the clinic attempting to block access. But compare her to Hamas supporters who video shows threw objects, including water bottles, at a park ranger and vandalized public property. None of those people will be charged.

Is it any wonder a growing number of people think we cannot sustain the nation? The Biden Administration selectively applies its standards of justice and throws praying grandmothers in jail. They give a pass to those who deface public property, unless they were in the Capitol on January 6th. The media goes along with it all, justifies it all, and excuses it all.

Israel rescued people taken captive by Hamas and the Washington Post and Vice President of the United States would rather mourn those who held the hostages than rejoice the hostages were freed. Instead of calling out Hamas for its war crime of harboring captives in civilian areas and noting these Gaza residents would be alive had Hamas not taken (or even released) the Israelis, the Vice President and much of the American press corps would rather condemn the Jews.

Praying grandmothers go to jail.

Israelis are condemned for rescuing their hostages.

Hamas and its supporters are treated with sympathy.

This is the left’s America and one for which a backlash will be coming.

CBS News has a tied race now. Joe Biden only has majority support from those who hate Trump. If Donald Trump shuts up, picks a likable Vice President, and lets that person do the heavy lifting, Trump will win. But we all know that is not Trump’s style. So the race remains in play. But it is remarkable the conviction in New York has done little to shake up this race.

That has more to do with how detested Joe Biden is than anything else. And how can you blame the public? He is throwing praying grandmothers in jail, his Vice President is excusing terrorists, and he thinks Bidenomics has made life better.
