Spinning The Jobs Data Against Trump

When coal miners were laid off during the Biden years, the media incredulously regurgitated Democratic talking points that these workers should simply “learn to code.” There were no humanitarian profiles or panel discussions about the impact on the broader economy, only demeaning statements that dehumanized the honest work of an entire industry.

Fast forward to today, and the Challenger Consulting Firm is reporting that “U.S.-based employers announced 172,017 job cuts in February, the highest total for the month since 2009.” Media outlets immediately lept to tantezling headlines claiming that DOGE job cuts would send the economy into a recession and cause federal workers into poverty.

When the government is cutting jobs, the media runs personal profiles and questions the impact on the economy. When the private sector cuts jobs, people should just adapt.
