Storms Leave At Least Five Dead

At least five people died in severe storms that swept through Tennessee Wednesday and Thursday, with dangerous conditions still affecting the Midstate and parts of West Tennessee.

Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, and Tennessee were all hit by more than a dozen tornadoes and storms, resulting in flooding and property damage. See the storm damage here.

Fayette, Hardeman, and McNairy counties were among the hardest hit by the storms, closing schools and roads and leaving over 7,000 without power.

The Trump administration approved an emergency declaration for Tennessee on Thursday, authorizing federal disaster aid for areas impacted by the severe storms.
