A student was shot in the parking lot of Memphis’ Central High School and is now in the hospital in critical condition.
Police described the attack as a “targeted” shooting, and used a stun gun to capture the suspect—a fellow classmate—trying to flee. A 9mm handgun was recovered from the scene.
According to police, the suspected shooter said he shot in self-defense after the victim threatened in class to kill him. He went home to get a gun and the shooting followed.
