An alleged member of the violent Venezuela-based Tren de Aragua gang was among 94 people detained in a joint operation by the Tennessee Highway Patrol and ICE, authorities announced Wednesday.
The gang affiliate was caught during a sweeping traffic enforcement effort that also uncovered illegal drugs and firearms.
The operation involved nearly 370 vehicle stops and flagged multiple felony suspects, but the arrest of a Tren de Aragua member—a group linked to international organized crime—stood out as a major security win. State officials stressed that the operation targeted driving violations, not people, and that federal agents were handling further criminal probes.
