Sweet Glazed Salmon

What’s wonderful about a fish like salmon is that it doesn’t need much to make it delicious. A little seasoning and flavoring here and there and bam! The fatty, tender, flaky fish takes care of the rest. Sweet Glazed Salmon understands that, using its sweet, spicy, and citrus-infused honey sauce to enhance the savory flavors of the fish. This means that Sweet Glazed Salmon is both easy and fast to make so you can enjoy a top-quality fish dinner with minimal effort and maximum enjoyment.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, divided
  • 4 (6-ounce) salmon fillets, patted dry with a paper towel
  • kosher salt, to taste
  • freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lemon, sliced into rounds

Directions

Step 1 –In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes.

Step 2 –In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil.

Step 3 –When the oil is hot but not smoking, add the salmon skin-side-up and season it with salt and pepper.

Step 4 –Cook the salmon until deeply golden, about 6 minutes.

Step 5 –Flip the salmon and add the remaining olive oil to the skillet. Add the garlic to the skillet and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.

Step 6 –Add the honey mixture and sliced lemons and cook until the sauce is reduced by about 1/3.

Step 7 –Baste the salmon with the sauce and ensure it is cooked to 145 degrees F internally (the fish should flake easily with a fork).

Step 8 –Garnish with lemon slices and serve.
