Over two dozen Tennesseans were among President Donald Trump’s pardons of approximately 1,500 Americans involved in the events of Jan. 6, 2021.
Among the most notable Tennessee cases was Eric Munchel, known as the “Zip Tie Guy” who was seen carrying plastic restraints while breaching the Senate gallery alongside his mother, Lisa Eisenhart.
Other Tennesseans included Mark and Jerry McKane Waynick, a father-son duo from Charlotte, and Knoxville resident Cliff Meteer.
Trump also directed the attorney general to pursue the dismissal of approximately 450 pending cases related to the Justice Department’s largest investigation in history.
