The JFK Files Were A Flop

The JFK files released yesterday appear to be a major bust. Thousands of documents containing no smoking gun are forcing conspiracy theorists to concoct larger, more unhinged theories on the magnitude of the coverup. It is not a coincidence that the very same people heralding the Epstein files were the ones most excited about the JFK release.

Before his death, Donald Rumsfeld once pointed out to me that no one on the Warren Commission could keep a secret, yet people are convinced that elaborate conspiracy theories are real. While major US institutions have contributed to the crisis in institutional trust after COVID, a growing number of people on the right are willfully and intentionally seeking out conspiracy theories that bear no semblance in reality.
