Utah’s Double Arch Collapses

The iconic Double Arch rock formation at Glen Canyon in Utah collapsed this week, according to the National Park Service.

A frequently-visited site, the Navajo sandstone feature was also known as the “Toilet Bowl,” “Crescent Pool,” and “Hole in the Roof.”

Park rangers are pointing to changing water levels and erosion from waves in Lake Powell as contributors to the collapse. No injuries were reported.
