A federal jury in Denver found MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell liable for defamation on Monday.
Eric Coomer, a former Dominion Voting Systems director, sued Lindell for falsely accusing him of rigging the 2020 presidential election. Coomer sought $62.7 million in damages.
Coomer’s attorneys argued Lindell knowingly spread false claims or acted with reckless disregard for the truth. Lindell’s defense said he sincerely believed the allegations and was protected by the First Amendment. The jurors found Lindell liable for two statements and his media company, FrankSpeech, liable for three, awarding Coomer $2.3 million in damages.
