2 drowning victims recovered from Tennessee River in Meigs County

The bodies of two male drowning victims were recovered from the Meigs County side of the Tennessee River near Blythe’s Ferry Road on Saturday, according to Tony Finnell, director of the Meigs County Emergency Management Agency.

Finnell told the Cleveland Daily Banner the two men, whom he did not identify, entered the river late Friday afternoon; however, the rescue operation was suspended until the next day due to fading daylight, swift river currents and the presence of debris caused by recent heavy rains.
