The City of Nashville has announced that inspectors are actively monitoring and treating roads as needed, prioritizing bridges and overpasses, which tend to freeze first.
This winter, the city has more snow plows available than at any point last year, with 40 plows ready for deployment. Despite this increase, officials have requested additional equipment to further bolster resources.
Nashville has expanded snow plow routes and invested in innovative technology, including a snow plow driving simulator, to improve efficiency and expedite road clearing during winter weather.
The National Weather Service warns of light ice accumulations, particularly on Interstate 40 and across the Cumberland Plateau. Residents are urged to exercise caution in affected areas.
