Fred Stanback is a progressive donor to major abortion and environmental causes. He seems to be one of those people who think we need less people.
Stanback was an early champion of RU-486, the controversial abortion drug. He put his money behind a campaign to promote RU-486. Eventually, the liberals in the Clinton Administration pushed the FDA to approve it, despite all the well-documented health and safety issues with the drug.
Fred Stanback has also donated $7.7 million over the past twelve years to Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.’s political organization and a host of population control groups.
As Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy will have final say on regulations relating to the abortion pill. He would control Title X family planning programs and the Office of Population Affairs.
Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. believes that large donors influence the political class in this country. One must wonder if he is talking from personal experience. If Kennedy makes decisions, I think Fred Stanback will have some influence.
The New York Post has now come out against Kennedy’s nomination. The Post uses Donald Trump’s own words about Kennedy to oppose Kennedy.
“I lived with RFK Jr. in New York and watched him convince Governor Cuomo to make Environmental moves that were outright NASTY,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“Upstate New York was not allowed to drill or frack as Ohio, Pennsylvania, and others ripped off New York Energy. Because of this, prices have skyrocketed all over that part of the Country.”
“I’d even take Biden over Junior’, because our Country would last a year or two longer prior to collapse.”
In Donald Trump’s words, “He’s a Radical Left Lunatic. No Republican can vote for this guy.”
Senate Republicans should listen to those words. And they should listen to J.D. Vance’s words: “If you’re not willing to stand up to the left on abortion, you can’t be trusted on anything else. “
Robert F. Kennedy is a leftwing radical who Donald Trump accurately noted was “an Extreme Environmentalist who makes the Green New Scammers look Conservative, a Big Time Taxer and Open Border Advocate, and Anti-Military/Vet.”
Kennedy is all of those things.
Pro-Life Senators and Republican Senators generally should reject Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. He is too radical to put in charge of the largest share of the federal budget. He is too radical to put in the presidential line of succession.
Donald Trump nominated Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. as payback for Kennedy’s endorsement. However, the Senate does not have to put Kennedy in office. They can and should stop him.
Okay, not I think I can move on to other things.
DeepSeek
Yesterday, markets went nuts because DeepSeek, an app based on a Chinese AI model, surged in downloads. The company behind it claims it has made an AI that is faster, uses less power, and doesn’t require super-fast GPU chips from NVIDIA.
The app also censors critical information about China, including about Tiananmen Square, and logs your keystrokes, among other things.
But, why are we taking all this at face value? It is just as likely the Chinese are lying. Elon Musk and several others have come forward to suggest the Chinese are claiming this, but actually are using 50,000 NVIDIA high-end chips that they somehow got into China despite export controls.
I would be hesitant to believe the communists have been able to leap ahead so suddenly and so dramatically. But it is also a reminder the Chinese are the enemy and need to be treated as such.
The Measure of Right-Wing Intellectual Honesty
I have and will continue to criticize President Trump and his administration as I see fit. Note my opposition to Tulsi Gabbard, RFK, and communist adjacent Labor pick Lori Chavez-DeRemer. Note also my criticisms of the blanket January 6 pardons.
But the first seven days of the Trump Administration have given us:
- A rollback of DEI in the federal government.
- Iran telling its proxies to stand down lest the United States view them as a threat.
- The Houthi ceasing Red Sea attacks.
- Mass illegal immigrant round ups and deportations.
- Corporate America scrapping leftwing virtue-signal initiatives.
- A willingness of advertisers to go back to conservative platforms.
- An order requiring federal employees to go back to the office.
- Fear and trembling among career bureaucrats who thought they were in charge.
Objectively, as a conservative with real qualms about some of Trump’s plans, the first week was a great success for conservatives and the country. It was so successful, the left has tried to pin egg prices on Trump, who has only been in office seven days. They haven’t found anything else yet to attack him over.
Sure, I’ll have plenty of criticisms. But if you, a self-described conservative, are fuming about Trump this past week, you might need to reassess your conservative credentials and your brokenness.
There are certainly things to criticize. But the balance of issues was in our favor.
And for all of you fuming, you might want to calm down. You still have 1,453 days left. You need to pace yourself.
