Gary Varvel: Mostly peaceful protesters

The prophecy of Zechariah 14 plus Humor Me cartoon

Joe Biden’s Democrat base threw a mostly peaceful protest at the White House over the weekend. The pro-Hamas demonstrators, defaced statues, painted red hand prints on the White House fence and wrote F-Joe Biden on the gate.

Squad member Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., is accusing President Biden of “complicity” in the deaths of children in the Middle East. She posted on X, “Joe Biden supported the genocide of the Palestinian people.”

Tlaib, who is the only Palestinian member of Congress, also said in the video, “Mr. President the American people are not with you on this one. We will remember in 2024.”

The left has forgotten that this war started last month with the unprovoked attack by Hamas terrorist who tortured, raped and killed 1,400 Israeli women and children. Israel Defense Force has dropped leaflets warning civilians to flee. But Hamas won’t let them leave because they use innocent children as shields.

More Bad News for Biden

According to recent polls, Biden is losing to Trump in 5 of 6 battleground states. A stunning 74 percent of Americans say the U.S. is on the wrong track. And now Democrats are saying publicly that Joe Biden should quit the race.

ANTISEMITISM PROPHECY

As I have written before, it is shocking how fast the whole world has turned against the tiny nation of Israel. Why are millions of people in other nations so worked up over Jews?

Obviously, this rise in antisemitism is demonic. And this is just the beginning. The Bible says there will be a time in the future, at the end of the 7-year Tribulation, when all of the nations will come against Israel.

Zechariah 14:1-3 says, “Behold, the day of the Lord is coming,
And your spoil will be divided in your midst.
For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem;
The city shall be taken,
The houses rifled,
And the women ravished.
Half of the city shall go into captivity,
But the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

Then the Lord will go forth
And fight against those nations,
As He fights in the day of battle.”

Zechariah prophesies that the LORD wins the battle and saves Israel. The people who survive will go to Jerusalem every year to “worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.” (Zechariah 14:16) Who is this King, called the Lord of hosts? His name is Jesus, from the lineage of King David.

Timing of events

Just as when we see Christmas decorations going up around my town, we know that Christmas is getting close. So it is when we see the nations aligning against Israel, just as it was prophesied 2,600 years ago, we know that we must be getting close to the fulfillment of all things.

By the way, Ezekiel 38 lists the nations that will go to war with Israel and Turkey is one of the nations listed. Well, last week Turkey President Erdoğa threatened war with Israel saying, ‘Our struggle is not only limited to our borders.’ All Israel News reports that Israel ordered the return of their diplomats from Turkey.

PRAYER FOR PEACE

Blessed are you oh, LORD, Creator of the universe. We are in awe that you know all things and have told us the end from the beginning.

We grieve to see the world in its sinful behavior, turn against the Jewish people. Please protect them from wrath of the devil and from evil men. I pray for the world to repent so that we can see the peace of Jerusalem and look forward to the reign of the Prince of Peace.

I also pray for the Palestinian people. I pray that they will cry out in repentance to you, Lord, the only true God. I pray that you would change the hearts of the terrorists just as you changed Saul in Acts 9.

Lord, comfort the families who are grieving and give them eyes to see their need for a relationship with you before it is too late.

May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
