Former Democrat, Retired Casino Worker to Go “All In” on State Assembly Race

(Chuck Muth) – As noted recently, I’m volunteering on Kelly Chapman’s race for Assembly District 8 in Clark County.

Why?

First, I’ve gotten to know Kelly and believe in her. She’s rock solid, while her Dem opponent is a tax-hiking, gun-grabbing, government-growing, criminal-coddling “nowhere man.”

Secondly, I hate working on “slam dunk” races.  There’s no challenge in it. I like so-called “mission impossibles.”  This one has all the earmarks of a potential MAJOR upset if we catch a break or two.

And remember, Republicans only need to flip ONE seat to get out of the super-minority in the Assembly.

Thirdly, if Kelly puts together a solid campaign in her Assembly district, that will help Lori Rogich – who’s running to flip the Senate seat in the same district against a card-carrying socialist Bolshevik. The better Kelly does, the better Lori’s chances are, as well.

These kinds of races always remind me of the old Bernard Shaw quote: “People who say it cannot be done should not interrupt those who are doing it.”

Anyway, below is Kelly’s press release announcing her plan to file on Monday.

If you’d like to join us and be part of the official launch – this *could* be historic! – the address for the Clark County Government Center is 500 S. Grand Central Pkwy. in downtown Las Vegas.

We also have a volunteer recruitment/training meeting next Saturday afternoon if you would like to get involved with what I personally think will be the most fun race of this entire cycle.

If you’d like to join us and see what we have in the works – and we’re gonna try some things that have never been done before – email Kelly directly to get details.

Otherwise, if you’d like to live vicariously through Kelly’s campaign, I encourage you to sign up for her new email newsletter, “Kelly’s Korner.”  Just go to chapman4nevada.com and scroll down to the lower-right.

And while there, if you could throw a few shekels her way, click on the “Donate” button before leaving.  She doesn’t have to raise anywhere near as much as her fat-cat Dem opponent, but she does need enough to make a game of it.

Kick in $20.24 or more, grab some popcorn, sit back, and wait for the fireworks to begin!

Former Democrat, Retired Casino Worker to Go “All In” on State Assembly Race

Kelly Chapman, a recovering Democrat and retired casino dealer/pit boss, will file as a Republican candidate for Nevada State Assembly District 8 on Monday, March 4, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at the Clark County Government Center.

“I spent 25 years working in Nevada’s casino industry, starting as a blackjack dealer and retiring as a pit boss for high-limit table games,” Kelly said. “So I know a little bit about how to beat the odds when playing against the house.”

Chapman noted that successful gamblers have to understand the rules, properly manage their money, develop a strategy, stick to it, avoid impulsive decisions, know their numbers, know their opponents, spot trends and patterns, know when to take risks, and when to play it safe.

“The house always has the advantage, as does Assemblyman Duy Nguyen, my incumbent Democrat opponent in this race,” Kelly continued.  “Conventional wisdom says I’m a longshot. Well, my whole life has been a longshot.  So I like my odds.”

Assembly District 8 has a Democrat majority in voter registration, but a Republican won this seat against former Assembly Speaker Jason Frierson in 2014 when the district was more Democrat-friendly than it is now.

“As Kenny Rogers put it, you gotta know when to walk away and know when to run,” Kelly noted. “I’m done with walking away. The stakes for the Nevada I grew up in and love are just too high.  If I wanted to live in California, I’d move to California.”

“I know exactly what I’m up against,” she continued, “but I’m gonna give Assemblyman Nguyen a real run for his money and let the chips fall where they may.”

“Win, lose or draw, the voters of Assembly District 8 will have a viable choice on who will represent them in Carson City next year,” Kelly concluded.  “It’s an exciting, high-stakes gamble, but I wouldn’t bet against me. If any Republican can win this seat, you’re looking at her. Place your bets!”

FAMOUS LAST WORDS

“One of the reasons we’re losing America is because 20 million liberals are making modest donations that add up to tens of billions of dollars.  Your gift, regardless of the amount, is important if we are to save America.  Remember, the great Mississippi River doesn’t start with the full force it has…(when) it empties into the Gulf of Mexico at New Orleans.  It starts with millions of drops of water that become thousands of little rivulets of water that fill hundreds of small streams, then larger streams.  Then the streams begin to come together in a small river that grows until it becomes the mighty Mississippi.”
