Amid stagnant revenue growth, Hamilton County Mayor Weston Wamp’s proposed budget for the upcoming year includes a 2% raise for employees while also reserving funds to resurface 40 miles of roadways, create a quick response team for opioid overdoses and prepare for a substantial bond issue for school projects in August.
Wamp presented the budget to county staff and commissioners Monday. He expects the Hamilton County Commission will vote on the full budget June 26.
The Hamilton County school board has not approved the district’s approximately $674 million budget, which also requires approval from the county commission. The county’s upcoming fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30, 2025.

Next year, the county anticipates nearly $329 million in revenue will flow into its general fund, which supports most functions of county government, excluding schools.
