In Unhinged SOTU Tirade, Biden Calls Trump, GOP, Enemies of Freedom Who Seek “Hate,” “Revenge”

by R. Cort Kirkwood

President Joe Biden didn’t waste any time setting the tone for last night’s State of the Union address. Just 42 seconds and three sentences in, he delivered the Big Scare Word: “Hitler.”

“I address you at a moment unprecedented in the history of the Union,” Biden said, quoting President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. “Hitler was on the march. War was raging in Europe.”

That segued into a preposterous rendition of national and world affairs that not only bore no semblance to reality but also vilified as “insurrectionists” his predecessor and the Americans who gathered for the mostly peaceful protests at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.

Republicans were the enemies of “freedom” he said, even as dumped responsibility for his illegal-alien invasion at the border on Donald Trump, a man consumed with “hate” and “revenge.”

SOTU was, in other words, a deranged, divisive paranoid rant.

Waste Money on Ukraine, Insurrectionists

“Not since President Lincoln and the Civil War have freedom and democracy been under assault here at home as they are today,” Biden falsely said. And “what makes our moment rare is that freedom and democracy are under attack, both at home and overseas, at the very same time.”

That permitted Biden to claim — again, falsely — that “overseas, [Vladimir] Putin of Russia is on the march, invading Ukraine and sowing chaos throughout Europe and beyond,” although the location of “beyond” he never disclosed.

The United States must “stand with Ukraine and provide the weapons it needs to defend itself,” which just happens, like economic sanctions, to be an act of war. Still, like FDR, Biden vowed not to send American troops to defend the dictatorship of raunchy comedian Volodomyr Zelensky.

“But now assistance for Ukraine is being blocked by those who want us to walk away from our leadership in the world,” Biden claimed, which invited the obligatory shot at Trump:

Now, my predecessor, a former Republican President, tells Putin, “Do whatever the hell you want.”

A former American President actually said that, bowing down to a Russian leader.

It’s outrageous. It’s dangerous. It’s unacceptable.

Biden claimed that Europe and even the free world is “at risk” if Americans don’t keep sending billions to Zelensky’s corrupt regime.

Vladimir Putin, he said, “will not bow down.”

From Russia, Biden traveled to the U.S. Capitol and the J6 non-insurrection.

“Insurrectionists stormed this very Capitol and placed a dagger at the throat of American democracy,” he said. It was the “darkest of days,” and “we all saw with our own eyes these insurrectionists were not patriots.”

“January 6th and the lies about the 2020 election, and the plots to steal the election, posed the gravest threat to our democracy since the Civil War,” he said. “My predecessor and some of you here seek to bury the truth of January 6th.”

Some Americans, of course, think Biden and his gang have buried the truth about the election.

In keeping with his and his party’s obsession with murdering the unborn, the president delivered the obligatory rant about Roe v. Wade, which the U.S. Supreme Court overturned in 2022. Those “in this Chamber and my predecessor are promising to pass a national ban on reproductive freedom. My God, what freedoms will you take away next?”

Biden, who claims to be a devout Catholic, promised “to restore Roe v. Wade as the law of the land again” if Congress sends him the legislation to do so.

Also included in his delusional oration were the obligatory fibs about his failed economy, including a brag that inflation has dropped from nine percent to three. Inflation was 0.1 percent in May 2020 — under Trump.

Delivering the usual Democrat schtick about Americans who don’t pay “their fair share” of taxes, Biden complained that America’s 1,000 billionaires pay taxes at a rate of only 8.2 percent. “No billionaire should pay a lower tax rate than a teacher, a sanitation worker, a nurse!” he thundered.

For the record, in 2020, the Tax Foundation reported last year, “the top 1 percent of taxpayers paid a 25.99 percent average rate, more than eight times higher than the 3.1 percent average rate paid by the bottom half of taxpayers.”

Biden falsely claimed that Republicans will “put Social Security on the chopping block.” No Republican proposes such a plan.

Border Lies

Worse still was Biden’s claim that the failed border bill that Republicans wisely rejected contained the “toughest set of border security reforms we’ve ever seen in this country.”

After listing the bill’s putative merits, he claimed, “It would also give me as President new emergency authority to temporarily shut down the border when the number of migrants at the border is overwhelming.”

Biden has that authority now, and can rescind any of the measures that invited the illegal-alien invasion any time he wants. The bill would have permitted 5,000 illegals per day to enter the country before the Homeland Security Secretary was required to declare an emergency.

And, of course, he blamed Trump for pushing Republicans to stymie the bill because he thought “it would be a political win for me and a political loser for him.” As GOP Senator J.D. Vance said, conservatives opposed the bill before Trump said anything about it.

Biden was honest about one thing: He wants to legalize “citizenship for DREAMers and so much more.” DREAMers are illegal aliens brought to the country as children “through no fault of their own.”

He didn’t mention that he has released more than two million illegals to colonize his country, a major national security threat, or that he has flown more than 320,000 directly into the country. He does not need a border bill to stop that.

Trump “Hates” and Seeks “Revenge”

Biden even accused Republicans of favoring censorship and “erasing history.”

“And stop denying another core value of America, our diversity across American life,” he fumed:

Banning books.

It’s wrong!

Instead of erasing history, let’s make history!

I want to protect other fundamental rights!

Pass the Equality Act, and my message to transgender Americans: I have your back!

Biden did not elaborate on the books Republicans want to “ban.” But he might have been thinking of the homosexual pornography his party wants in public-school libraries.

Biden closed his address with boilerplate Democrat eyewash.

“My lifetime has taught me to embrace freedom and democracy,” he said, with a final blast at Trump, “to respect everyone. To give everyone a fair shot. To give hate no safe harbor”:

Now some other people my age see a different story.

An American story of resentment, revenge, and retribution.

That’s not me.

The very idea of America, that we are all created equal and deserve to be treated equally throughout our lives.…

Hate, anger, revenge, retribution are among the oldest of ideas.

But you can’t lead America with ancient ideas that only take us back.

To lead America, the land of possibilities, you need a vision for the future of what America can and should be.

Tonight you’ve heard mine.

I see a future where we defend democracy, not diminish it.
