Way to kill the vibe.

The rapper Killer Mike, whose real name is Michael Render, was taken away in handcuffs at the Crypto.com Arena during the Grammys 2024 on Sunday after winning three awards before the main broadcast.

He was arrested due to an alleged physical altercation with a security guard at the event, according to law enforcement officials.

A video posted to X by Hollywood Reporter journalist Chris Gardner shows Mike, 48, walking through the arena with at least two police officers and multiple other men in black suits.

A bystander reportedly shouted “Free Mike” as he walked through.

“An official tells someone on his team that it’s possible he may be released later tonight from the arena. Unclear if he’s being booked here and what he’s charged with. Trying to find out,” Gardner added in a follow-up tweet.

Earlier Sunday, Mike won all three awards he was nominated for: Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for “Scientists & Engineers,” as well as Best Rap Album for “Michael.”

Mike isn’t the only performer making a stir at the Grammys. Miley Cyrus’ wild ’80s hair and Doja Cat’s barely-there nude dress and tattoo-covered body are also causing a commotion on social media.
