The West TN Regional Chapter of the TFA will being holding our regular stated meeting Thursday, the 18th of January 2024 at Brooks Shaw Old Country Store, located in The Casey Jones Village, Jackson, TN. Our room will be available at 5:00 p.m. for those who wish to share a meal and fellowship. There will be a legislative update prior to the speaker taking the floor, as the General Assembly is back in session.
Our speaker this month is Matthew Nicolas, President of the Gibson County Ham Radio Club. He is affiliated with the Communication Division of the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief Group, as well as being highly active in the Calvary Baptist Church in Jackson. Native to West TN, he is heavily involved in communication when normal methods are interrupted. Mr. Nicholas has contacted individuals in all 50 states and over 250 foreign countries. TFA feels it is important to learn about this technology, as we are our own first responders, and see the necessity to learn how to call for or render aid in times of trouble.
Membership is NOT required to attend, all are welcome.
