The Truth About Christmas

In The Light of God’s Word

Hebrews 4:12 (KJV)

According to scripture, is December 25th the birth date of Jesus Christ;  or is it another religious and Pagan tradition with another Jesus and another spirit?  (II Corinthians 11:4;  Matthew 15:9)

This Bible tract will answer these questions by the authority of the Word of God.  Thus saith the Lord, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”  (II Timothy 3:16).  The Word of God is the final authority.

God in His Word has not chosen to reveal the birth date of His beloved Son, Jesus Christ.  “The secret things belong unto the LORD our God;  but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.”  (Deuteronomy 29:29)

According to scripture, what was the purpose of Jesus Christ being born into this world?  The purpose of Jesus Christ coming in to this world is to save sinners from their sin and to bear witness to the truth.  “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.”  (I Timothy 1:15a).  “…To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth.  Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.”  (John 18:37(c)(d))

The Origin of Christmas

In AD 354, Bishop Liberius of Rome ordered the people to celebrate Christ’s birth date on December 25th.  He chose this date because the people of  Rome already observed it as the Feast of Saturn, celebrating the birth of the sun (The World Book Encyclopedia Vol. 3, p. 416).  Therefore, the Catholic Church embraced and masked the pagan holiday.  From then on, the observance became known as Christmas.  The word Christmas derives from two words, Christes Masse which means Christ’s Mass or the Mass of Christ.  The refers to the Roman Catholic ritual and practice in which Christ is believed to be sacrificed literally over and over again for sin.  During this sacrifice of the Mass, the priest continues to offer the body of Jesus Christ repeatedly.  This truly is blasphemy to the one time sacrifice of Jesus Christ’s finished work at Calvary.  The Word of God states, “And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:  But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God.”  (Hebrews 10:11-12).  The Catholic position is summed up in the following words in the Council of Trent, Part II, Chapter IV, Paragraphs 26, 33, 36:  “The Holy Eucharist contains both the Divinity and humanity whole and entire, consisting of the soul, all the parts of the body and the blood of Jesus Christ.”  This wafer is adored as God, and is placed into the tabernacle sitting on the Roman Catholic altar.  This is called transubstantiation.  The word of God rebukes this teaching.  Jesus Christ the Lord said, “It is the spirit that quickeneth;  the flesh profiteth nothing;  the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”  (John 6:63)  Through the Mass, Jesus is known to be a continually dying Saviour.  The Bible says “Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.”  (Romans 6:9)  The Lord Jesus Christ said, “It is finished.”  (John 19:30)  The scripture concludes that the Mass is a perverted gospel (Galatians 1:6-7) with another Jesus (II Corinthians 11:1-4).  Faith in this false gospel will never give you forgiveness or redemption from sin.

During Christmas season, notice how the world celebrates these so called “holidays”;  in riotous living with sinful pleasures of drunkenness, fornication, adultery, parties, covetousness, idolatry, gift giving, financial bondage, pride and arrogance.  Just notice in all of your gift exchanges, how it is filled with nothing but murmurings and complaints, envy, strife, hate, backbiting, unthankfulness, revelings, banqueting, and abominable idolatries (I Peter 4:3).  Let it be known, thus saith the Word of God, this is nothing but hypocrisy which is the reason for this season.  (II Timothy 3:4-7)  “Lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God.”  (II Timothy 3:4c);  “Ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”  (II Timothy 3:7)  Which the god of this world (Satan) has blinded the minds and hearts of the people in deceiving them to reject the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.  “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”  (II Corinthians 4:4)  “Therefore as by the offense of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation;  even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.”  (Romans 5:18)

The Christmas Tree and Santa Claus

The Word of God exposes the Christmas tree as a vain custom of the people which He called heathen.  “Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen… For the customs of the people are vain;  for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.  They deck it with silver and with gold;  they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.”  (Jeremiah 10:2-4)  Never mind your traditions and your customs, or what your priest or pastor teaches, but rather what does the Bible say.  Jesus said, “And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.  Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered;  and many such like things do ye.”  (Mark 7:9, 13)  “We ought to obey God rather than men.”  (Acts 5:29b)

Who is Santa Claus and where did he come from?  Santa Claus originated from the Roman Catholic Bishop Saint Nicholas.  He was a man honored by the Greeks and Latins who bestowed dowries for three daughters of an impoverished citizen which was done on December 6 and later transferred to December 25th.  This is said to have originated the custom of gift giving in secret on the evening of St. Nicholas (December 6).  Santa Claus is supposedly a god-like, omnipresent, and all knowing man;  which is a lie!  It is said, “He knows if you’ve been bad or good.”  Only the one and true God alone is Omnipresent, and all knowing.  “Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD and not a God afar off?  Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD.  Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.”  (Jeremiah 23:23-24)  “For the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts.  (I Chronicles 28:9b).  “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.  There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.  They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable;  there is none that doeth good, no, not one.”  (Romans 3:10-12)

Christmas is another gospel, another Jesus, and another spirit (II Corinthians 11:1-6).  Christmas is nothing more than you perverting the Bible gospel with this Pagan religious worship.

What about you pastors and you true born again brethren, that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.  (II Peter 1:1b)  Will you continue to compromise in bringing this Pagan lie into your church?  And love the gifts and praises of men more than the praise of God (John 12:42-43).  Whom do you seek to please, Jesus Christ the Lord, or men, “For do I now persuade men, or God?  or do I seek to please men?  for if I yet please men, I should not be the servant of Christ.”  (Galatians 1:10)  Remember, Christ Mass is a LIE and “…no lie is of the truth.”  (I John 2:21)  “Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God.  He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.”  (II John 1:9)  Repent of your compromising ways and make a stand for the LORD and His Word and contend for the faith (Jude 1:3).  Scripture declares, “God is a Spirit, and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.”  (John 4:24)  Remember the commandment of our Lord.  “But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?  (Galatians 4:9)  “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing;  and I will receive you.”  (II Corinthians 6:17)  “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.”  (Ephesians 5:11)  “Awake to righteousness, and sin not;  for some have not the knowledge of God:  I speak this to your shame.”  (I Corinthians 15:34)

“Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are His.  And, Let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”  (II Timothy 2:19)

Dear lost soul, the Bible reveals there is only one way into heaven.  This way is God’s way into eternal life.  “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”  (John 14:6)  This is the only way that Almighty God approves.  “Neither is there salvation in any other:  for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”  (Acts 4:12)  However, many today are trying to go to heaven according to their own way, which is the way of religion;  penance, baptisms, speaking in tongues, good works, good morals, confessions, karma, positive energy, the inner self, scientology, confirmation, praying the rosary, men’s traditions, men’s philosophy, Muslim, Buddhist, Jehovah’s Witness, Mormonism, Catholics, plus many other cults.

The scripture saith, “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”  (Proverbs 14:12)  “Enter ye in at the strait gate:  for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat.  Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”  (Matthew 7:13-14)  “Not everyone that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven;  but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven . Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy Name?  and in thy Name have cast out devils?  and in thy Name done many wonderful works?  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you:  depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”  (Matthew 7:21-23)  “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.”  (Acts 3:19a).

You must believe the gospel according to the scriptures:  “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;  By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.  For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;  And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures.”  (I Corinthians 15:1-4).  “FOR WHOSOEVER SHALL CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED.”  (Romans 10:13)
