TRUMPS RELIGIOUS BELIEFS NOT WHAT YOU THINK — Carl F. Worden

“TRUMP’S REAL RELIGIOUS BELIEFS ARE NOT WHAT YOU THINK”.  That is the title of a YouTube video my wife brought to my attention, and I am bringing it to your attention for your information only.  I’m not suggesting anyone vote for or against Trump, and at this time he seems to be the only viable (and available) candidate I would vote for.  That written, I think everyone one of you owes it to yourself to see what Donald J. Trump believes with regard to Christianity.  Trump did many good things from a religious standpoint, from appointing good judges who eventually overturned Roe v. Wade to establishing the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem.  Trump also made some incredibly stupid mistakes while in office, and I have been critical of him for not admitting his mistakes for the simple reason that a man who cannot or will not admit to mistakes is a man who will repeat them.  Now that I’ve had a chance to see this video, I think I understand why.  That written, I am not here to judge Trump or anybody else, but God wants us all to be wise using his wisdom and to use our God-given discernment to assess others, which is why I am passing this information to you.  You are about to hear Trump speaking his own words, so this is not a case where some pundit puts words in Trump’s mouth.

There is an adulterated form of Christianity often referred to as “Prosperity Gospel” or “The Laws of Attraction” being preached in certain corners today, and many people subscribe to it.  Norman Vincent Peale was Trump’s pastor when he was growing up, and he was also the author of “The Power of Positive Thinking”, which I have read and recommend when it comes to working toward your personal goals in life.  However, the preachers who teach their congregations that they will become enormously prosperous if they become Christians is not one of God’s biblical promises, and as I’ve written before, if you put words into God’s mouth, don’t be too surprised if God doesn’t keep them.  While it is very important to think in positive terms, you will find the wisdom contained in the Books of Proverbs and Ecclesiastes to be most profitable in your quest for personal success on this rock, provided you include God and his son in your life’s journey every step of the way.

When you view this video, keep in mind some of the most basic (and true) biblical doctrine given by Jesus himself — such as the fact we are all born with a sinful nature and the fact we must confess our sins directly to God, repent of committing them again and asking God’s forgiveness in the name of his son, Jesus Christ.  Jesus also commands we be baptized in his name once you have truly accepted Jesus as your savior, acknowledge that Jesus was resurrected from death, that Jesus is the one true Messiah and only son of God.  Finally, Jesus said, “If you love me, keep my commandments”.
