A Virginia woman was overjoyed when she discovered that the lottery ticket she had tucked into her Bible for safekeeping was a $1 million winner.

She purchased the ticket on Christmas Eve and later realized her luck after seeing a news report about a winning ticket from her town of Moneta.

The woman who bought the ticket at Lake Mart & Deli was one of five winners in Virginia’s New Year’s Millionaire Raffle.

Despite her newfound fortune, she returned to work the next day as a nurse in Bedford County.
