WINSOME SEARS CALLS TRANS SENATOR ‘SIR,’ HE STORMS OUT AFTER SHE REJECTS WOKE AGENDA

By Daphne Moon

In 2021, Virginia elected its first black female lieutenant governor, Republican Winsome Earle-Sears. She was one of several candidates who rode the red wave of anti-wokeness in the state that year, along with governor Glenn Youngkin.

Despite being a religious individual and openly voicing conservative views, Sears made it clear that she was not afraid of the liberal backlash that would inevitably come her way. She believes that Democrats are fueled by hatred when it comes to conservatives, and as a result, she fully expects to face criticism from them.

When asked about how she planned to combat Democrats in the future, Sears confidently told the New York Post’s Cal Thomas in September 2022 that she didn’t care about winning their vote. She said that as Christians, they must be wary that no one else should take the place of Christ.

They should remember that God can use anyone, even someone who may not fit the typical conservative mold, to do his bidding. Sears added jokingly that if God used a donkey to communicate with people, he could use anyone.

In a recent exchange with state senator Danica Roem, Virginia’s first transgender lawmaker, Sears demonstrated that she was not afraid to stand by her beliefs, even when those beliefs directly challenge liberal values.

The two were discussing practical matters in the upper chamber when Roem asked Sears about the number of votes needed to pass a bill with an emergency clause. Sears answered that it would take four-fifths of the votes, and Roem pressed her for the exact number. Sears responded by saying, “Yes, sir,” and Roem immediately stormed out of the room.

This interaction led to two recesses and an initial refusal by Sears to apologize. Roem appeared distraught on the state Senate livestream and the Democrats were quick to demand an apology. Sears eventually returned to the chamber and apologized, without specifically addressing Roem. She also pointed out that Democrats have constantly disrespected her since she took office, so she did not intend to offend anyone.

The Democratic Party of Virginia did not let the opportunity to attack Sears pass them by. They took to social media to say that they would not forget her “smear” and demanded that she show some respect for the position she held. However, Prince William County supervisor Yesli Vega responded with a powerful tweet, reminding everyone that Sears was being attacked by liberals during Black History Month for simply stating the truth.

At its core, this is a battle about beliefs. Many people, including Winsome Earle-Sears, believe in a higher power and follow His laws, regardless of societal pressure to conform to woke ideas. In Genesis 1:27, God says, “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” He never mentions that anyone has the right to change the gender they were born with, and Sears stands firm in her beliefs.

She knows that “no one is on the throne except Christ” and she will continue to stand up for what she believes in, regardless of the backlash she receives. During Black History Month, it is important to remember that everyone is entitled to their beliefs, even if they don’t align with the current narrative.
