President Biden told reporters he’s decided how the U.S. will respond to the deadly drone strike that killed three American soldiers in Jordan, but he didn’t offer any details.
U.S. officials indicated the response could occur as soon as this week and hit multiple targets. National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby said the administration wanted to avoid war with Iran, but the attack couldn’t stand unanswered.
There have been more than 150 attacks on U.S. personnel and positions within the Middle East since October. Biden says he believes the assaults are being carried out by proxies of the Iranian government.
